This movie is based on Dracula, so I feel that the plot and characters are very similar to Dracula’s.The black-and-white pictures of the film also add a lot of horrible atmosphere, which makes me very concentrated and nervous when I watch. This is a feeling that I have never had before when I watch modern color movies.

What’s more, the weakness of vampires is something I’ve never heard of. The way to defeat a vampire is actually self sacrifice. Like Ellen’s dedication in the movie, this perspective is very novel. Different from the usual vampire film as a villain, people always use a variety of magic props to defeat the vampire’s weakness.

Dracula in the original text of a vampire show the mysterious horror of the plot — people on the ship disappear one by one, but in the film it becomes the key to find the source of the vampire is the plague. I want to divide this plot in two parts. First of all, it is a very good turning point. As a film, it is certainly difficult to fully pave a story with its duration as a novel. Moreover, I think the reason of plague is also very good. But it makes me feel that the vampires in this movie are not so mysterious and terrible, because the atmosphere is not enough, it is too easy to find the source of the vampire.

This film changes many of the plot and the details of characters in Dracula, which makes me feel that it has lost the charm of the original work, because many characters with welldescriptions in Dracula are changed in this film. If we do not associate Nosferatu with Dracula, we may have a better viewing experience.
