The appearance of vampires will change in different periods. For example, the vampires in Twilight series have extraordinary beauty. Vampires in Horror of Dracula (1986) have red eyes. But there are two basic things that will not change. First, vampires have fangs, although there are some Vampire Fangs that can be hidden in their daily life.Second, the appearance of vampires is close to human beings, so that they can integrate into human society.
Understand:
The theme of vampire is a fantasy monster theme well known by many people, so many writers will create different stories according to this theme. So some characteristics of vampires, such as appearance, will change according to the content and backgroud of the story .But vampires need to drink blood, so their fangs can’t be absent. Moreover, vampires are monsters hidden in the human society, so their human appearance is also necessary.
Evaluate:
This is very reasonable. Only through constant innovation that the theme of vampire not become boring forever,but become more interesting. However, since readers want to read a story about vampires, the vampire, one of the core of the story, can’t change too much from the traditional vampire. At least for the readers they can accpet and know it’s a vampire. So the appearance of vampires, authors will make the vampires more terrible or beautiful according to the needs of the plot, but they are all human appearance, which will not change.

This article fits very well with part of what I want to write— the appearance of vampires. And it uses a few words to let me have a good understanding of the reasons why the appearance of vampires changes in different works and what’s the key points that the appearance of vampires can’t be changed. It also made me understand that in terms of the appearance of vampires, I need to look for novels with different themes and plots ,it will help me to beeter compare them, because it is more likely to find vampires whose appearance will change greatly.

This article makes me understand that in my article, in order to better compare the characteristics of vampires in different periods. I should first grasp the similarities and differences of these characteristics, and then look for relevant novels and movies. For example, the origin of vampires, I have to look more for movies with vampire as the core role, rather than just looking for works with vampire elements.
